Thirty-three years ago, in the year 1990 a dream began. Little did I know that there would be a great big,
beautiful tomorrow shining brightly at the end of today and tomorrow would be just a dream away. If you have a
dream then that is a start. And that was the beginning of Little Friends School. My passion to give back to
society was fulfilled by this mission to educate children with a purpose, that is, to develop the total
personality of our students and guide them to be sensitive and responsible citizens of our country.
With a B ED degree and no experience, I joined the City Montessori School in Lucknow in 1984 and 6 years
later, in 1990, the dream to start our own playgroup was realized. Our first session 1990-1991, at our
residence in Patrakarpuram, Gomti Nagar, had just 12 students! As we look back, it seems that we have come a
long, long way.
Most adults agree that they remember very little of what they were taught in school – but they are still
careful to keep their certificates in a safe place. The early years of a person’s life are of great importance
and vivid, vital and pleasurable experiences are easiest to remember.
It has been our continual effort to support a number of children from the economically weaker section of
society and we are so proud of those who excel in their work year after year which never fails to amaze us.
Right from the beginning we have been catering for the learning diversity educational needs of children with
mild to moderate learning disability. Our effort to integrate them into the mainstream has been successful
beyond our expectations.
Presently the school is up to class 5 and we will keep on expanding as and when our modest resources allow us
to and hope to provide more and more quality service in future. Our desire is to take the school up to the
12th standard and we are sure that our dream will come true.
